Notre Dame’s relentless defense could be the deciding factor as they prepare to face BYU in Provo. With edge rusher Boubacar Traore poised to pressure BYU quarterback Bear Bachmeier and contain his dual-threat capabilities, the Fighting Irish are set to exploit every weakness. The absence of BYU’s star running back LJ Martin puts added pressure on Preston Rex, but Notre Dame’s defensive depth and top-tier talent may prove overpowering.
The secondary gains a major boost with the expected return of Leonard Moore after a concussion, giving Notre Dame an edge against a likely pass-heavy BYU offense. Can Moore and the defensive backs shut down explosive plays and propel Notre Dame towards a national championship run? With Notre Dame currently among the favorites, this matchup is set to be a critical test of their title aspirations.
